Our makeup case minimum is 300 pieces per design, not 300 pieces per order. Those are different numbers and the gap between them is where first orders go wrong.

Three colorways of the same case is three designs. Three sizes is three designs. A buyer planning 300 units across a small range is planning 900, and finding that out after the quote is a bad week.

Why the minimum attaches to the design

Because the cost sits in the setup, not in the units.

Each design has its own interior layout, its own foam or divider cut, its own hardware placement, and its own line changeover. Running 100 of one and 100 of another and 100 of a third means three changeovers for the same 300 units, and the changeover does not get cheaper because the run is short.

This is also why a supplier who quotes you 100 pieces per design is either running a stock body with a printed panel, or has not priced the changeover and will find it later. Neither is what you want on a program you plan to reorder.

What counts as a separate design

Ask this early, because different plants draw the line differently. Ours goes like this.

Separate design. A different size, a different interior layout, a different shell material, or a different closure. Anything that changes tooling, cutting, or line setup.

Not a separate design. A logo change on the same body, and in most cases a color change on the same shell material, though a color change still has its own material minimum from the supplier of that material.

Get your supplier to put their version of this list in the quote. The line is not standard across the industry and assuming it costs money. What else has to be in that request before a number is possible is in why a luggage factory cannot send you a price list.

What buyers actually plan

We cleaned the bot traffic out of our own inquiry forms and were left with 2,424 real messages. Customization and private label came up in 257 of them, and minimum order quantity in 86. Read together, the pattern is a buyer who has designed a range before checking what a range costs.

Could you please share your catalog, MOQ per model, and private label (custom logo) options?
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ) for each product?
Is there an option for low or no minimum order quantities for emerging brands?

The first buyer got it right. MOQ per model is the correct question and it is the one most people forget to ask.

How to get a range out of one design

This is the useful part, and it works at any factory, not just here.

One body, several interiors. The shell drives the minimum. Interiors are cut, not tooled. A single case body with two or three interior configurations reads as a range on a shelf and counts as one design in the quote.

One body, several finishes. Same logic, with the caveat above about material minimums.

Stage the sizes. Launch one size, prove the sell through, then add the second size on the reorder. The second size will cost the same minimum whenever you add it, so adding it later costs nothing extra and tells you far more.

A brand that launches one body in three interiors is buying 300 units. A brand that launches three bodies in one interior each is buying 900 and learning the same amount.

What we make, and what we hold a patent on

We build makeup cases in aluminum, ABS, PVC, and PVC over fiberboard. Sampling runs 7 to 15 days and bulk runs 45 days from a confirmed sample.

One of our utility models covers a case combining travel and vanity functions, number ZL 2018 2 0143205.9, valid to January 2028. You can check that yourself through the China National Intellectual Property Administration public bulletin, which is open without an account, as of August 2026. We list the number because a patent claim without one is not a claim.

Where we are the wrong choice

If your plan is five designs at 100 pieces each for a first season, we are not the right plant and we will say so on the first call. That order wants a supplier running stock bodies with printed panels, and the unit price you get there will beat ours.

Come back when one of those five is selling. At that point the 300 per design math works in your favor rather than against it, and the case can be built rather than relabeled.

If you are sizing a first range now, send us the design list before the drawings and we will tell you which items collapse into one design and which do not.

The same per design arithmetic decides what a kids range costs to certify, for a different reason. Each size is a separate submission under kids luggage CPSIA testing.

Per design arithmetic starts at the tooling. Before counting designs, settle whether a luggage mold transfers between materials.

Consolidating a range shortens the calendar as well as the tooling bill, for the reasons set out in where the calendar actually goes.

Every extra color and finish is another master to approve. The mechanics are in how a logo actually gets onto a metal shell.

Tooling is where per design arithmetic turns into money. See what a tooling number actually buys.

Frequently asked questions

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ) for each product?

300 pieces per design on makeup cases. A different size, interior layout, shell material, or closure counts as a different design. A logo change on the same body does not.

Could you please share your catalog, MOQ per model, and private label (custom logo) options?

Yes to all three. Ask every supplier for MOQ per model rather than MOQ per order, because the two numbers can differ by a factor of three on a small range.

Is there an option for low or no minimum order quantities for emerging brands?

Low, yes, and we quote below 300. None, no. A zero minimum on a custom case means stock with a logo applied afterward, which is a different product with a different failure rate.

Do you offer samples for testing quality before placing a larger order?

Yes. Sampling runs 7 to 15 days. If the sample is going to a third party lab rather than to your desk, say so when you request it.

What is the estimated production lead time after deposit and sample approval?

45 days for bulk on a confirmed sample.

Do you customize from customer’s drawings and specs?

Yes. Send a 3D file or a dimensioned 2D drawing. For makeup cases the interior layout matters more than the shell, so mark the compartment dimensions rather than leaving them to us.
